I have a 2012 SLK Sport and i need new front dampers. There are the B4,6 and 8 can I fit the B4 to mine? Front Bilstein B4 - Gas Shock Absorber - 22-164858

I see it lists the B8 for sports but why not the B4? Surely the sports spring only lowers the car 10mm so the B4 would work or is it all about the damping properties? We live in rural surroundings so we dont need anything stiff.

Thanks for your question!

Bilstein designed and created the B4 product line as a direct OE replacement to most applications. However, for vehicles that are more sports oriented without any ride height alterations, we recommend the B6 product line. For sports oriented applications that involves ride height modifications, we recommend the B8 product line.

We normally do not recommend the B4 line of products for lowered or lifted applications as they will not behave as well as our uprated shock absorbers. Longevity and safety is what we have in mind the most for this matter.
